The best seasons to schedule this amazing 22-day adventure are undoubtedly the spring and fall if you’re wondering when is the best time to do the Everest Three Pass Trek. In Nepal, March through May is considered the spring season, and September through November is considered the fall season.
These are the finest months because you can experience stable and dry weather in which you can see the clear views of majestic, awe-inspiring mountain peaks with beautiful landscapes. You will be at 1400 meters above sea level when you arrive in Kathmandu from your home country. Similarly, you will be at 5,340 meters high in Renjo La Pass and 3,368 meters high in Cho La Pass, respectively. Gokyo Ri is at a height of 5,483 meters. You are trekking above 5000 meters places such as Chhukung Ri (5,546 m), Kongma La Pass (5535 m), Gorak Shep (5180 m), Everest Base Camp (5364 m), Kala Patthar (5555 m), Cho La Pass (5368 m), Gokyo Ri (5483 m), and Renjo La Pass (5340 m).
So, there is a higher chance that anyone can suffer from altitude sickness due to a decrease in the oxygen level. So, we have acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar, Dingboche, and Gokyo so that your body can adjust well to the heights. You will walk regularly for 17 days on this 22-day Everest Three Pass Trek, which runs from day 3 to day 19 of the schedule. On day 13, your trip from Lobuche to Dzongla would need a minimum of three to four hours of walking per day.
On days 7 and 17, you will be walking only 4 to 5 hours when trekking to Dingboche and Thame, which can also be considered a minimum walk.Correspondingly, you have to hike at least an average of 5 to 6 hours regularly. So, be prepared before embarking on this challenging journey.
The maximum walk per day will be 7 to 9 hours when crossing Kongma La Pass and walking down to Lobuche on the tenth day, hiking up to Kala Patthar and returning to Lobuche on the eleventh day, and trekking to Gokyo by crossing Cho La Pass on day fourteenth. The trails will be very steep, and the journey will be very tiring, which is very hard for people who have no physical fitness.
You will be staying in a standard twin-sharing hotel when you are in Kathmandu City for 5 nights. Similarly, you will stay in the teahouses for 17 days in a row in different villages while trekking for the Everest Three Pass Trek journey. These teahouses provide the basic facilities along with electricity and a hot shower, which costs an extra charge.
The more you ascend the higher elevations, the lesser will be the availability of the facilities. Similarly, you will be provided with 21 breakfasts, 17 lunches, and 17 dinners, and fresh fruits after dinner. When you are in Kathmandu, you will be only provided with breakfast, as lunch and dinner are not included in our package.
Teahouses serve a variety of food menus such as Daal Bhat, pancakes, momos, pizzas, Indian dishes, continental dishes, etc. But the food options also get limited along with the higher altitudes. You need to pay extra cash for drinks, and we do not suggest drinking any other drinks but only clean water.
To complete the Everest Three Pass trek, you will have to obtain three permits: an entry permit for Sagarmatha National Park, a TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) permit, and a Khumbu-Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit.
We take care of your permits from the moment you book the trek with us. But you must have all the required documents with you to fill out the forms for these permits.
On this Everest Three Pass Trek, all transportation expenditures are comprisedin our package. On the first day, we will transfer you to your accommodation by our private automobile. And on the second day, we will tour the Kathmandu Valley with our private vehicle.
We will be flying by plane from Kathmandu City to Lukla or vice versa. For majority of the 17 days of this journey, we will be walking on foot to reach our stops. On the last day, we will come to your hotel pick you up, and drive you to the airport.
Also, do not forget to get travel insurance before starting the Everest High Pass Trek because the hazards of high-altitude trekking will be covered by the insurance. In case of a very serious emergency such as serious illness or injury, we may have to transport you to the nearest hospital using a helicopter.
