The Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour is one of the best international tours to go for. If you are someone who enjoys learning and exploring different cultures and religious sites, this tour is made for you. Starting off, we will explore the historic city of Kathmandu and the beautiful tourism capital city of Pokhara. Remember that, the sightseeing day is not limited to the sites we recommend, you are free to add your preferred sites to the day’s itinerary.
We will then move towards Tibet, visiting cities like Lhatse, Shigatse, Lhasa, Shegar, and more. After we are done with Tibet, we will get back to Kathmandu and head for Bhutan, the next day. Bhutan ranks among the least visited destinations in Asia and people are missing out on this amazing country. Bhutan is a monarchy, among the handful of monarchies left in the world, and the landscape scenes it offers are just beautiful.
Our Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour incorporates these 3 different countries in a single tour and we will do our best to make sure that your unique needs are met throughout the tour. If you have some unique needs, please make sure that you let us know about them during the booking phase. We understand that not everyone has the same preferences while traveling and we want to make this tour as memorable as possible.
This 17-day long tour reaches a maximum elevation of 5,220 meters at Gyatso La pass. Since we will not be spending much time there, the risk of altitude sickness is not a great threat. Additionally, since the tour mostly requires car travel rather than walking, it’s suitable for most people.
However, there are times when you have to walk a little. For example, you have to hike up to Tiger’s Nest, a major viewpoint in Bhutan. But this hike will only last about 2 hours, so it should not be a major physical demand for most people.
The Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour is a scenic tour, to say the least. If you are unsure whether you should go on this tour, we will break it down for you below. Hopefully, this will help you make the ultimate decision.
The trip starts on the 2nd day of the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour. You will be taken on a day sightseeing tour around the city of Kathmandu visiting a number of historic religious sites and fly to Pokhara in the later hours of the day. You will then explore the city of Pokhara the next day before traveling back to Kathmandu.
On day 5 of the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour, you will travel to the Kerung Border, following a 165 km drive from Kathmandu. This will be followed up by a drive to Tingri and eventually to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Lhasa is a historic city and a spiritual one as well. We will spend 2 entire days in Lhasa, visiting a bunch of interesting historic sites.
The best season for the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour is the season of Autumn. During this season, you will be offered clear bright skies with minimal chance of rain in Nepal. In Tibet, it does not rain very often, compared to the 62 inches of annual rain in Nepal, Tibet only receives 18 inches.
The next best season to do this tour is the season of spring. Similar to autumn, springtime brings along clear skies and great scenes of the surrounding landscape but there are slightly more chances of rain overall. Additionally, you can also do this Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour in summer as the scenes are equally good but it might get a bit sweaty and hot to travel in a car.
We will spend some days over 4000 meters altitude which can invite altitude sickness. However, our tour guide will keep a close eye on the oxygen level of each traveler every night and every morning. This lets the guide know that the oxygen level in your blood is decreasing and he can take the necessary steps to help you not suffer from altitude sickness.
In the rare case that you get altitude sickness, the guide will call a rescue operation and a helicopter will take you down to a hospital at a safer altitude.
Throughout the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour, you will be staying in hotels with all the basic facilities and some additional facilities of your convenience. We will cover your accommodation expenses but the extra expenses during your stay such as hot showers, extra meals, and beverages, are not to be covered by the tour package.
Since this Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour takes you to 3 different countries, you will get to taste a bunch of different cuisines. For example, you will get to taste authentic Newari dishes in Kathmandu, and traditional Nepalese dishes in Pokhara while you will have the chance to try out traditional Tibetan cuisines. The cuisine of Bhutan is similar to the ones you will find in Tibet, however, there are a couple of national dishes that you can try out.
The same can be said for drinks; different places have their own specialty drinks which we encourage you to try. The best way to get to know about a culture is by having their food and drinks.
You will travel a lot on the road throughout this Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour and also a few flights. You will travel by air from Kathmandu to Pokhara and back. Additionally, you will travel from Kathmandu to Paro (Bhutan) via an hour-long flight. The rest of the tour will be done via land transportation. All of the required transportation will be covered by the tour package.
Since this Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour takes you specifically to cities of different nations, you won’t face issues charging your electric gadgets and you will have access to WiFi at every stop we make daily. However, WiFi in hotels can be a little slow as many people have access to the same network.
Your extra expenses include personal medical and travel insurance, flight to and from Kathmandu at the beginning and end of the tour respectively, visa fees, extra expenses at hotels, extra meals besides breakfast, lunch, and dinner, tips for the crew members, and anything not mentioned as included in the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour package.
Yes, you can do the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour in winter as well. This tour can technically be done throughout the year but Tibet closes its doors to foreign tourists in the months of February and March, as it is the time for the Tibetan new year.
Yes, you are free to cancel the Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour after booking but based on when you cancel the booking, a certain amount of deposit will be withheld. Our staff members begin working on the logistics of the tour as soon as you book the tour which is why we have to withhold a certain percentage of the initial deposit.
Yes, this Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour is flexible in terms of itinerary which means you can basically add destinations to the existing standard itinerary. You can also choose to remove some destinations.
You should pack the appropriate clothing for this Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour. You need warm clothes while you are in Tibet, and you will need light clothing while you are in Nepal and Bhutan. Also, you should not wear shorts while visiting monasteries, we recommend you dress modestly.
