During the Spring season (March to May) the weather will range at temperature 10°C to 20°C at lower altitudes during the daytime however in the evening and morning at higher elevations can be freezing cold.

During the summer monsoon (June to September) season, it brings warmer temperatures and heavy rain that makes the treks riskier, reduces visibility, and slippery Landslides may occur in different areas which makes trails difficult whereas December to February brings much colder. There are many guest houses and Tea houses in Mardi Himal Trek while WIFI is not widely available throughout the trek however some of the Tea houses may have Wi-Fi available in low elevations but as you go uphill you may not connect to the Wi-Fi because of the higher elevations.

Electricity can be one of the major issues during the Mardi Himal trek. In lower elevations, electricity is available 24 hours but at higher elevations, it may be available for a few hours in the evening. Both permits can be obtained from the Nepal Tourism Board office which is located in Kathmandu and Pokhara as well. The trekkers need to have these permits along with them all the time as they need to present the permits at several checkpoints.

As Mardi Himal Trek is located in the Annapurna Conservation Area it is important to take an Acap permit as well. The cost for the permit for international tourists is 3000 Nepalese Rupees i.e. 22USD whereas for SAARC countries it is NPR 1000/USD8.

Trekker’s information Management System (TIMS)

TIM’s cards are very important for the trekkers for their safety and apart from that they also track the trekkers so if anything, an emergency occurs rescue can be done in a quick time. The permit costs NPR 2000/15 USD for international tourists whereas for SAARC countries it is NPR600/USD 5.
